Connecticut news outlet CT Insider reports that listed starter Kalieb Osborne has thrown for 421 yards, four touchdowns and one interception through two starts. Southern Miss quarterback Ethan Hampton has 326 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

That gives UConn the edge in the winner pick, though two games don't establish how either quarterback will handle a close finish. Southern Miss also has a threat to Osborne's ball security: CT Insider reports that defensive back Kobi Albert intercepted three passes in the opener.

The rushing matchup keeps this a pass

Southern Miss allowed 343 rushing yards against Auburn, according to The Daily Campus, UConn's student newspaper. But UConn ran for just 67 yards against Maryland. The Golden Eagles' recent weakness creates an opening; the Huskies' own performance leaves doubt about whether they can exploit it.
