Northwestern vs. Oregon Prediction: Quarterback Questions Cloud Ducks’ Outlook
Analysis updated October 30, 2026 at 8:05 AM CDT
Oregon is favored at Autzen Stadium, but Dante Moore is out for the season and the Ducks changed offensive play-callers after their latest loss.
Oregon’s offense faces major changes
Yahoo Sports reports that Oregon quarterback Dante Moore will miss the rest of the season following a concussion. The Ducks also changed offensive play-callers after their October 24 loss at Illinois. Those changes make Oregon difficult to trust as a 3.5-point favorite, especially without confirmed information about Moore’s replacement.
Northwestern enters Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. ET game at 6-1 after four consecutive wins, while Oregon is 4-3. That recent form gives the Wildcats a credible chance to stay close, but the available evidence doesn’t show how either team has performed on a play-by-play or efficiency basis.
Northwestern also has lineup concerns
Yahoo Sports lists Northwestern safety Robert Fitzgerald and offensive lineman Ezomo Oratokhai as out. Special-teams contributor Brendan Flakes is doubtful, and defensive back Robby Preckel is questionable. Tight end Luke Dehnicke is no longer on the Big Ten availability report. Those absences and uncertain defensive back availability weaken the case for taking Northwestern plus the points.
Prediction and betting view
SPF lists Oregon at -3.5 and -175, with Northwestern at +145 and the total at 47.5. The market makes Oregon the likelier winner, but there isn’t enough confirmed lineup or performance data to justify laying the spread, backing Northwestern, or betting the total. The betting call is Pass.
