Missouri vs. Ole Miss Prediction: Rebels Favored, but the Bet Is a Pass
Analysis updated October 17, 2026 at 8:10 AM CDT
Ole Miss is favored by 5.5 points after beating Vanderbilt 52-17, but Missouri arrives with a productive rushing attack and a 27-6 win over Texas A&M.
Missouri vs. Ole Miss betting outlook
SportsPicksForum lists Ole Miss as a 5.5-point home favorite and -205 on the moneyline. Missouri is +170, and the total is 58.5. The price makes the Rebels the likely winner, but it does not offer enough value to justify a bet without stronger evidence separating these teams.
FOX Sports reports that Ole Miss beat Vanderbilt 52-17 in Week 6 as Trinidad Chambliss threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score. Ole Miss Athletics adds that the Rebels forced four turnovers, recorded three sacks and made eight tackles for loss. That defensive pressure is the clearest reason to favor Ole Miss at home.
Missouri has a path to stay close
Missouri beat Texas A&M 27-6 in Week 6 behind Jamal Roberts, who rushed for 222 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries, according to FOX Sports. Cayden Lee added seven catches for 94 yards and a touchdown. Ole Miss may need another disruptive defensive performance to cover 5.5 points.
Ole Miss Athletics reports that quarterback Austin Simmons has thrown for 1,434 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. Lee leads Missouri with 616 receiving yards and five scores, giving the Tigers another way to move the ball if Ole Miss slows Roberts.
Injuries make the spread difficult to trust
The Sports Wire, which published the SEC availability update, lists Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy and offensive linemen Josh Atkins and Khalief Canty Jr. as out. Lee is probable, while tight end Brett Norfleet is questionable. Those absences weaken the case for taking Missouri, even after its strong Week 6 result.
Ole Miss also has three offensive linemen listed out: Emanuel Faulkner, Enoch Wangoy and Jalan Chapman. With important absences on both offenses and no confirmed lineup details beyond the availability report, neither Ole Miss -5.5 nor Missouri +5.5 is supported strongly enough. Ole Miss is the straight-up prediction, but the betting lean is Pass.
