The Hurricanes are the likely winner after a 7-1-1 start, but their schedule and expected goalie change make the SPF moneyline difficult to justify.
Carolina's schedule creates risk at -218
Carolina has won seven straight and outscored its opponents 32-15 during that run. The Carolina Hurricanes / NHL.com preview also reports that the Hurricanes are 7-1-1 and have won their first five road games, while Calgary enters at 1-6-0. Those results make Carolina the clear favorite, but the SPF moneyline asks bettors to lay -218.
The Hurricanes beat Winnipeg 3-2 on October 17 and now play their second road game in two nights. Brandon Bussi is expected to start after Pyotr Kochetkov played in Winnipeg. That schedule and expected goalie change add enough risk to make the price unattractive.
Injuries reinforce the pass
