As always, an important factor in my analysis is the hidden impact of offensive line play on fantasy production. Allen Robinson, Chicago Bears Our own Matt Harmon has been trumpeting the talent of Allen Robinson since he left Penn State, and in Matt's recent WR tiers article he showed he's keeping the faith. Fantasy gamers are less enthralled by A-Rob after a ho-hum first season in the Windy City, and he's attached to a quarterback who hasn't received the puff-piece love one expects to come out of training camp. Giants coach Pat Shurmur said all four of his quarterbacks will see playing time when New York hosts the Chicago Bears in Friday night's preseason game. Jones was on the field in last week's preseason opener against the Jets for just eight plays and about 4 1/2 minutes. "The plan, obviously, last week was to play him longer," Shurmur said. It was potentially one of the biggest storylines – changes at two of the five positions on the offensive line – hanging over a Chicago Bears offense needing to grow as a group and with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. The story involved moving a 2018 Pro Bowl and 2016 all-rookie center – Cody Whitehair – out of the position he'd anchored on the Bears line for three years, and moving a relatively unproven (10 NFL starts) young O-lineman – James Daniels – from left guard and into Whitehair's spot, with the latter going back to left guard after three years in the middle. At stake was the risk of disruption of one of the NFL's best emerging offensive lines, which tied for third-fewest sacks (33) and was top-10 in sack percentage in the league last season. New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate III never hesitated to take a prescribed fertility drug because the doctor who wrote the prescription told him he had given it to other NFL players and it was not banned. Speaking to reporters a day after an independent arbiter upheld his suspension for the first four games of the regular season, Tate said Wednesday he was considering legal action against the doctor to recover the $1.2 million in salary he will lose during his suspension. He did not identify the doctor. Continue to Article

New York
New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate has had the appeal of his four-game suspension for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance enhancers turned down. The decision by an independent arbiter was announced Tuesday and means the 10-year-veteran will miss the first four games of the regular season, starting with Dallas on Sept. 8. Tate, who signed a $37.5 million contract as a free agent with the Giants in March, announced the suspension in a Twitter post on July 27. Continue to Article
