The NFL fined 49ers cornerback K'Waun Williams $20,054 for a Week 5 hit on Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen that resulted in a roughing-the-passer penalty. Williams was blitzing off the left side when he leaped into the air to attempt to bat down Rosen's pass attempt on a third-and-7 play in the fourth quarter. If you follow the NFL, you may already be tangentially aware of the story of Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen, who remains on indefinite leave from the team after suffering a very frightening mental breakdown three weeks ago. Griffen was reportedly stalking around the lobby and threatened to “shoot someone” before police were summoned. Griffen was let go without being arrested and left the hotel of his own accord.
