Jarryd Hayne hopes to repay the faith of Parramatta Eels after taking a huge pay cut to re-join the team from Gold Coast Titans. The versatile 29-year-old struggled to find his best form in Queensland after returning to NRL following a stint in NFL, which saw him briefly appear for San Francisco 49ers. The NFL has reportedly proposed to partner with NFL players to create social change. On Monday (Nov. 30), the football league reportedly submitted the final draft of a proposal that would ultimately contribute $89 million to causes deemed important by the African-American community, according to ESPN. The NFL hopes the proposal will effectively end the controversial national anthem protest, which was originally started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick last year. Jarryd Hayne has been linked with a return to Parramatta Eels following his release from Gold Coast Titans on Thursday. The Titans and code-hopper Hayne mutually agreed to release the two-time NRL Dally M Medallist from the final year of his contract. Hayne – who enjoyed a spell in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers – and the Titans dismissed reports he was looking to leave the club at the start of November but the 29-year-old's future has now been decided.
