The Cowboys have emerged in the past decade under coach Mike Gundy, turning the showdown into much more than just a yearly meeting between schools from the same state. Oklahoma leads the series 85-18-7, but Saturday's meeting will be the second straight that will decide the Big 12 title. The Big 12 Conference, which announced in the summer that it would be bringing back its championship game in 2017, revealed last week that it will play the game at AT&T Stadium -- better known as the home of the Dallas Cowboys -- in Arlington, Texas. Fortunately for the folks who live in Oklahoma, they won't have to drive as far for the 2016 title game. It marks the second straight year that the Bedlam game will determine the Big 12 champion. For the second straight year, No. 11 Oklahoma State heads into its regular-season finale against its in-state rival, No. 7 Oklahoma, with a chance to claim the Big 12 title. Last year, Oklahoma State was missing several key starters because of injuries, with quarterback Mason Rudolph hardly playing, and wound up losing 58-23 on its home field. Oklahoma's Joe Mixon is apologizing for punching a woman two years ago, which led to the running back's suspension for the 2014 season. In a statement issued Tuesday to The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/2frffRJ ), Mixon apologized to the woman he hit, Amelia Molitor, and to his teammates, coaches and Oklahoma fans. Mixon was sentenced to a year of probation after he entered an Alford plea, in which he asserted his innocence but acknowledged there was likely enough evidence to convict him of misdemeanor assault.
