Kurt Benkert threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, and Virginia forced six turnovers in beating Duke 34-20 on Saturday. The East Carolina transfer was 23 of 41 with touchdowns covering 28 yards to David Eldridge, 12 yards to Olamide Zaccheaus and 3 yards to Richard Burney. Boston College coach Steve Addazio is hoping for another week of positivity as his Eagles play their final tune-up game against Buffalo on Saturday. The Eagles (2-2) enter a daunting five-game stretch against ACC opponents following Saturday's contest during which they will face No. 3 Louisville, No. 5 Clemson and No. 12 Florida State. Notre Dame plans to do all those things when it play its first game Saturday since coach Brian Kelly fired defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder, facing Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Kelly put former Purdue defensive coordinator Greg Hudson in charge and said he has been more involved with that side of the ball this week, too.
