Mateer's opener gives Oklahoma the edge
Oklahoma's John Mateer threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns on 11 completions in a 51-0 win over UTEP, according to CBS Sports. Michigan edged Western Michigan 13-12. That contrast favors the Sooners, but SPF's Oklahoma -5.5 requires a win by at least six points in Ann Arbor.
CBS Sports reports that Bryce Underwood threw an interception in Michigan's opener and that coach Kyle Whittingham called for more poise and accuracy at quarterback. The report identifies Underwood as Michigan's quarterback entering Saturday, though Whittingham didn't guarantee him the job for the rest of the season.
