Thunder vs. Mavericks Prediction: Injuries Make Oklahoma City -230 a Pass
Analysis updated October 28, 2026 at 7:35 AM CDT
The unbeaten Thunder should be favored, but their depleted rotation makes the SPF price difficult to justify.
Thunder carry the stronger form but a depleted roster
WhyNBA, an NBA news and schedule site, reports that Oklahoma City enters Wednesday's game 4-0 after beating Phoenix 125-114. Dallas is 2-2 after Cooper Flagg had 29 points and 11 assists in a win at Miami. That recent form favors the Thunder, but SPF's -230 moneyline already demands a high level of confidence.
Oklahoma City will be without Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace, Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso. Ajay Mitchell is questionable with a right ankle sprain after scoring 30 points against Phoenix. Those absences make it difficult to back the Thunder at -6.5, even though Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 26 in Monday's win.
Dallas isn't an easy underdog choice. Kyrie Irving, Naji Marshall and Caleb Martin are questionable, while Santi Aldama is doubtful. With both rotations unsettled, the Mavericks' +6.5 price doesn't offer a clear advantage.
Betting verdict
Wise Guy Team, which publishes BetMGM betting splits, lists 90% of moneyline tickets and 62% of spread tickets on Oklahoma City. Those figures describe public betting, not the quality of either wager, and they don't offset the Thunder's availability concerns.
SPF lists Oklahoma City at -230 and Dallas at +190, with the Thunder favored by 6.5 points. The total is 228.5, but the available evidence doesn't establish a scoring or defensive case for either side. Oklahoma City is the likely winner, while the moneyline, spread and total are all passes.
