Spurs vs. Jazz Prediction: Utah’s Injuries Don’t Make San Antonio a Bet
Analysis updated October 28, 2026 at 1:30 AM CDT
Utah will be without Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jusuf Nurkic, while Lauri Markkanen is questionable. That favors San Antonio, but not enough to justify the SPF price.
Utah’s frontcourt is depleted
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Utah starting center Jaren Jackson Jr. will miss at least six weeks with a torn right MCL. Jusuf Nurkic is also out with a plantar plate tear, while Lauri Markkanen is day-to-day with a wrist injury and listed as questionable. Those absences make San Antonio the likely winner at Delta Center.
SPF lists the Spurs at -575 on the moneyline and -12.5 against the spread. Utah is +425 and +12.5, while the total is 234.5. The Jazz’s injuries explain San Antonio’s status as a heavy favorite, but they don’t show that the Spurs can cover 12.5 points.
The pick
There are no confirmed starting lineups, recent results or team statistical profiles available for this matchup. That leaves too little evidence to lay a large spread or make a pace-based case for either side of the total.
San Antonio is the winner pick, but the moneyline offers little return at -575. Pass on the moneyline, spread and total.
