USC vs. Wichita State prediction: Trojans favored, but lineup questions point to a pass
Analysis updated November 8, 2026 at 7:25 AM CST
USC is the likely winner at -270, but uncertain frontcourt availability and only one result for each team make the spread and total difficult to price.
USC brings more scoring into Stateline
USC opened with a 95-63 win over Milwaukee. Field Level Media reported that Adonis Ratliff scored 25 points, Alijah Arenas added 21 points and eight rebounds, and Rodney Rice finished with 15 points and nine assists. That balanced production supports USC as the likely winner, but the Trojans must cover 6.5 points to reward spread bettors.
Wichita State beat Cal State Northridge 79-67 behind William Berg's 26 points and 16 rebounds and Kenyon Giles' 21 points. Berg's work inside gives the Shockers a possible answer to USC, though one opening game isn't enough to establish value at +6.5.
Availability makes the price hard to trust
Field Level Media reported that USC forward Jacob Cofie was limited to nine minutes by severe back spasms against Milwaukee, and coach Eric Musselman expressed concern about his availability. Wichita State's Dillon Battie and T.J. Williams missed its opener for precautionary reasons related to a soft-tissue injury. Coach Paul Mills expected both to be available Sunday, but neither status was confirmed.
Those unresolved roles affect the spread and the 156.5-point total. USC is the more likely winner, but the available evidence doesn't justify laying 6.5 points, backing Wichita State solely because of missing information, or betting a total that requires both teams to score at a pace not yet established. The betting lean is Pass.
