Saints vs. Lions prediction: Kamara questionable with Detroit -7
Analysis updated September 12, 2026 at 6:50 AM CDT
New Orleans could be without two running backs at Ford Field. That favors Detroit, but it doesn't establish a seven-point betting edge.
Saints' backfield availability matters
New Orleans could face Detroit without both Audric Estimé and Alvin Kamara, a concern for an offense getting 7 points at SPF. The New Orleans Saints' official injury report rules Estimé out with a thigh injury and lists Kamara as questionable with a knee injury, despite his full participation Friday.
WWL / Audacy, a New Orleans radio news outlet, reports that coach Kellen Moore said Kamara will travel to Detroit. That keeps his availability in play, but doesn't confirm he'll suit up. If he sits, the Saints will have fewer running back options with Estimé already unavailable.
The Saints also ruled out tight end Oscar Delp and edge defender Cameron Jordan with hamstring injuries. Detroit cornerback Christian Izien is questionable with a groin injury, while defenders Derrick Moore and Mekhi Wingo practiced fully Friday without game designations. Those absences tilt the injury comparison toward Detroit.
Winner lean and betting decision
Detroit is the low-confidence winner lean, but Pass is the betting recommendation. SPF's -325 moneyline requires roughly a 76.5% win probability to break even, and the injury reports alone don't establish that chance. They also don't justify projecting a margin above 7 points or backing New Orleans simply because it receives a touchdown.
