Fordham quarterback Kevin Anderson was granted a medical redshirt by the league to return for a fifth season of eligibility. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Anderson was granted the extra year because he sat out his freshman season at Marshall in 2013 while recovering from a broken collarbone he suffered as a high school senior in Boca Raton, Florida. Army has suspended defensive coordinator Jay Bateman for two weeks for mishandling information about the Wake Forest football team. West Point also fined Bateman $25,000 for his role in the so-called WakeyLeaks scandal and ordered him to attend ethics training. Jordan Asberry ran for a 3-yard touchdown on fourth down in overtime, sending Army past North Texas 38-31 on Tuesday in a rematch at the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Asberry's score was the sixth rushing touchdown in the game for the Black Knights (8-5) and 46th of the season. Army converted a fourth-and-goal for a touchdown in overtime and held North Texas on its OT possession to win Tuesday’s Heart of Dallas Bowl 38-31. After getting stuffed on third down near the goal line to start overtime, Army had to decide to take the lead with a short field goal or go for the TD.
