Seahawks vs. Cardinals Prediction: Quarterback Change Tests Seattle at -3.5

Analysis updated September 20, 2026 at 6:16 AM CDT

Seattle must replace its quarterback and right guard as a road favorite. Arizona's own injury questions make this a pass.

Seattle must adjust on offense

Seattle is favored by 3.5 points at Arizona on SPF, but Drew Lock will start with Sam Darnold out, according to FOX Sports. The Seattle Seahawks also announced that right guard Anthony Bradford is out with knee and hip injuries. Replacing both puts added pressure on Seattle's protection and execution when a field-goal win wouldn't cover.

Coach Mike Macdonald identified Christian Haynes as the next option at Bradford's spot, according to the team's report. Seattle's Week 1 win offers limited evidence for backing this changed offense: FOX Sports reports that the Seahawks beat New England 13-10 while intercepting Drake Maye three times. Counting on another three interceptions would be a weak basis for laying the points.

Betting decision

Arizona isn't a clear alternative at +3.5. Yahoo Sports / Cardinals Wire, a Cardinals-focused news outlet carried by Yahoo Sports, reports that starting guards Isaac Seumalo and Isaiah Adams and defensive linemen Roy Lopez and Andrew Billings are questionable. Cornerback Garrett Williams is out. Those absences and unresolved statuses affect Arizona's ability to protect its quarterback and challenge Seattle's replacement starters.

SPF lists Seattle at -205 and Arizona at +170. Seattle is the market's likely winner, but the available evidence doesn't establish a worthwhile wager on either side. Pass on the moneyline, spread and 40.5 total; neither a projected margin nor a scoring estimate is well supported.
