Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen is expected to be active against the New Orleans Saints after being away from the team for the last five weeks. According to the Vikings website, Griffen will make his return to the lineup for the a rematch of the 2017 NFC Divisional round matchup with the Saints after returning to practice on Wednesday. Coach Mike Zimmer told reporters on Friday that he hasn’t decided whether Griffen will play. Griffen was away from the team for roughly a month as he dealt with mental-health issues. The Minnesota Vikings were contacted by the NFL league office and told to include defensive end Everson Griffen on the team’s injury report after not being listed on Wednesday, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press. Griffen returned to the Vikings this week after a month-long leave of absence from the team to address mental health related issues following an incident at a Minneapolis hotel.
