Avalanche vs. Predators Prediction: Colorado Favored, but -230 Is Too Expensive
Analysis updated October 25, 2026 at 1:36 AM CDT
Colorado has the better listed record, while Nashville returns home after an overtime loss in Pittsburgh. The Avalanche should be favored, but their moneyline leaves little room for uncertainty.
The price is the problem with Colorado
PuckOdds lists Colorado at 6-4-1 and Nashville at 3-3-4 entering Sunday’s game at Bridgestone Arena. That record gap points to the Avalanche as the likely winner, but SPF’s -230 moneyline requires a much stronger case than the available evidence provides.
PuckOdds projects Mackenzie Blackwood in goal for Colorado, but the starter isn’t confirmed. Colorado will also be without center Nicolas Roy and forward Zachary L’Heureux. Those lineup questions make the Avalanche difficult to back at such a steep road price.
Nashville returns from an overtime game
Nashville Predators / NHL.com reported that the Predators lost 3-2 in overtime at Pittsburgh on Saturday. Juuse Saros made 34 saves, so Nashville enters this matchup after using its top goalie heavily the previous night. No starting goalie is confirmed for Sunday.
Nashville defenseman William Trudeau is on injured reserve. Even with Colorado’s short price and lineup uncertainty, the available evidence doesn’t make Nashville attractive at +190.
Best bet
Colorado is the likelier winner, but the moneyline is too expensive. SPF lists the Avalanche at -1.5 and Nashville at +1.5 without puck-line prices, so neither side of that market can be evaluated. The total is 6.5, but the unconfirmed goalies leave too much uncertainty for an over or under bet. Pass.
