Lipscomb vs. Iowa Prediction: Hawkeyes Should Win, but Pass at -4000
Analysis updated November 3, 2026 at 7:44 AM CST
Lipscomb is playing its second road game in two days after losing its opener. That favors Iowa, but it doesn't justify the Hawkeyes' -4000 moneyline or -20.5 spread.
Lipscomb faces a difficult turnaround
Lipscomb lost 86-79 at Southeast Missouri State on Monday and now visits Iowa on Tuesday. Lipscomb University Athletics identified this as the Bisons' second road game in as many days, a demanding turnaround that strengthens the case for Iowa to win.
The Bisons led 42-40 at halftime Monday but were outscored 46-37 after the break. They also committed 15 turnovers and lost the rebounding battle 38-33, problems that could make it harder to stay within the 20.5-point spread on limited rest.
Takai Simpkins scored 22 points and made all 11 of his free throws, while Devyn Martin had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Those performances give Lipscomb two proven contributors, but one game doesn't show how they will fare against Iowa.
Betting outlook
SPF lists Iowa at -4000 on the moneyline and Lipscomb at +1600. Iowa is the likely winner, but risking that much on the Hawkeyes isn't worthwhile without current Iowa results, lineup information or availability news.
The spread and total are also passes. Lipscomb's turnaround supports Iowa, but there isn't enough information about the Hawkeyes to justify laying 20.5 points or betting the 151.5 total.
