Bucks vs. Pacers Prediction: Indiana’s -325 Price Is Too Steep

Analysis updated October 16, 2026 at 7:10 AM CDT

The Pacers are the likely winner based on the projected starting groups, but their injury report was still pending when the official preview was published.

Indiana has the stronger projected starters

Indiana hosts Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Pacers are -325 on the moneyline and -8.5 against the spread, while the Bucks are +260. The total is 235.5.

The Indiana Pacers / NBA.com preview projected Tyrese Haliburton, Ben Sheppard, Kelly Oubre Jr., Pascal Siakam and Ivica Zubac to start for Indiana. Milwaukee’s projected group was Kasparas Jakucionis, Brayden Burries, Ousmane Dieng, Pete Nance and Jericho Sims. That matchup makes Indiana the likely winner if the listed players receive meaningful minutes.

Haliburton scored 24 points in 17 minutes during Indiana’s 114-112 overtime loss to Oklahoma City, shooting 9-for-14 from the field and 4-for-6 from three. Zubac had 13 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Their recent production strengthens Indiana’s starting-unit advantage.

The price requires more certainty

The same official preview listed both injury reports as TBA. Without confirmed availability or rotation plans, laying -325 offers little return for taking on preseason uncertainty. The -8.5 spread is also difficult to support because reserve minutes can determine the final margin.

Wise Guy Team, a betting-splits publication, reported that Indiana received 88% of moneyline bets and 96% of moneyline money in its tracked sample of regulated U.S. sportsbooks. Those figures show heavy support for the favorite, but the sample doesn’t represent the entire market and doesn’t make the price worthwhile.

Indiana is the more likely winner, but neither its moneyline nor its spread is supported strongly enough at the SPF prices. Pass.
