Jose Ramirez homered in each game of the doubleheader on Wednesday as the host Cleveland Indians completed a sweep with a 5-1 victory over the Texas Rangers. Ramirez belted a two-run homer in the seventh inning of a 2-0 win in the opener of the doubleheader before launching a solo shot in the second inning of the nightcap. Jose Ramirez belted a two-run homer in the seventh inning as the host Cleveland Indians recorded a 2-0 victory over the Texas Rangers in the opening game of a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. The Minnesota Twins have turned their second triple play with Martín Pérez on the mound — in a span of less than three weeks. With three runs already in for Atlanta in the third inning and the bases loaded on Wednesday afternoon, Tyler Flowers hit a sharp grounder straight to third baseman Miguel Sanó. Pérez was also pitching on July 22 against the New York Yankees when Edwin Encarnación grounded into a 5-4-3 triple play turned by Luis Arraez, Schoop and Sanó, who was playing first base in that game. Veteran infielder Asdrubal Cabrera joined the Washington Nationals for their Tuesday game in San Francisco against the Giants. The Texas Rangers designated the 33-year-old for assignment on Saturday, and Cabrera signed with Washington on Monday for his second tour of duty with the club.
