Cleveland Indians first baseman Yonder Alonso will miss at least three games after being placed on the family medical emergency list on Friday. Major League Baseball rules require Alonso to miss at least three days and a maximum of seven. The Minnesota Twins optioned Miguel Sano to their Single-A affiliate in Fort Myers, Florida, on Thursday in hopes the move helps the former All-Star third baseman get back on track. Manager Paul Molitor made the announcement after Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Tigers, one in which Sano was not in the lineup. Molitor told reporters he wasn't unhappy with Sano's effort, but believed the move would help the 25-year-old work on all parts of his game. Continue to Article

Kluber continued his dominance of the division on Sunday, allowing two runs in eight innings as the Indians beat the Detroit Tigers 9-2.
