Cleveland Indians
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The survival trip has turned into the survival home stand. The Indians just finished a 4-5 trip through Detroit, Kansas City and Toronto. They won four of the nine games despite averaging fewer than three runs a game. Home cooking has not cured what ails manager Terry Francona's team. The Twins beat them, 1-0, on a three-hitter Friday. On Saturday, the Indians lost, 4-1, and once again were held to three hits. It's the first time they've been held to three or fewer hits in consecutive games by the same team since a doubleheader against Boston on April 12, 1992. The Indians won Game 1, 2-1, despite Boston's Matt Young throwing an eight-inning no-hitter. "It has not been the best Continue to Article

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Shortly after the Kansas City Royals announced that they are saying goodbye to infielder Christian Colon, he posted a letter to social media thanking his teammates, the Royals front office, owner David Glass and Kansas City fans for the support during his time here. He said, in part, “playing for this city was an honor, a pleasure and something I won’t soon forget. Fans will most remember Colon for hitting the game-winning RBI in game five of the 2015 World Series. Continue to Article

Recently, however, Cleveland owner Paul Dolan spoke at Temple Emanu El Brotherhood, and touched upon the topic, and attributed the pace at which Wahoo is disappearing to commissioner Rob Manfred's involvement in the process. Here's what Dolan said, according to Cleveland Jewish News: "We are mindful that there are people who are offended by it, and frankly if you leave Northeastern Ohio, it changes, the prospective (sic) on this changes. We were on some path towards a middle ground, I don't know what that path was, and that's still where we're headed, Continue to Article

Nobody really expects the controversy surrounding the Cleveland Indians’ Chief Wahoo logo to go away anytime soon. If we’ve learned anything from the drama with the Washington Redskins and their name it’s that these fights are like the Energizer Bunny — they keep going. Continue to Article

A group of major leaguers from Venezuela is speaking out against President Nicolas Maduro's crackdown on anti-government protests, which has left more than 30 people dead. In a video published Monday night on social media, 13 players including Kansas City's Salvador Perez, Cincinnati's Eugenio Suarez and Pittsburgh's Francisco Cervelli call on Maduro's government to stop beating back demonstrators who for the past month have paralyzed Venezuela, pushing for the embattled socialist's departure.
