Tulane vs. Charlotte Prediction: Green Wave Favored, but Pass at Current Prices
Analysis updated October 30, 2026 at 7:05 AM CDT
Charlotte’s defense makes Tulane the likely winner, but neither the -345 moneyline nor the 8.5-point spread offers a strong wager.
Charlotte’s defense gives Tulane an opening
Tulane visits Charlotte on Friday at 7 p.m. ET with a clear statistical advantage against the 49ers’ defense. According to iHeart Sports, Charlotte allows 40.6 points and 465.1 yards per game, including 278.0 passing yards. Those numbers help explain why SPF lists Tulane as an 8.5-point favorite.
Tulane hasn’t consistently produced like a team built to cover that number. The Green Wave average 20.3 points and 332.0 yards per game, and Fubo News reports that they enter at 3-4 after a 42-19 loss to UTSA. Charlotte is 1-6, but its latest result was a 38-31 win at Temple.
The prices ask too much
Tulane quarterback Kadin Semonza has thrown four touchdown passes and two interceptions, while Charlotte quarterback Cole Gonzales has three touchdowns and seven interceptions. That difference supports Tulane as the likely winner, but it doesn’t make the -345 moneyline attractive.
The spread carries its own risk. Tulane must win by nine despite averaging just 1.2 more points per game than Charlotte, and no confirmed starter, injury, weather or meaningful public-betting information is available. Charlotte’s poor defense creates a path to a Tulane cover, but the evidence isn’t strong enough to recommend either SPF price.
