Boise State vs. Washington State Prediction: Broncos Likely, but Pass at -625
Analysis updated October 24, 2026 at 9:04 AM CDT
The Broncos should control this matchup with their rushing attack, but missing players and limited market evidence make the SPF prices difficult to back.
Boise State holds the stronger matchup
FOX Sports reports that Boise State is 5-1 with five consecutive wins, while Washington State is 1-6 after four straight losses. The Broncos also average 35.0 points and 450.5 yards per game, compared with 20.1 points per game and a 29.8% third-down conversion rate for the Cougars.
Boise State's 234.5 rushing yards per game should put sustained pressure on Washington State. Quarterback Maddux Madsen has also completed 66.2% of his passes for 1,296 yards, 13 touchdowns and no interceptions through six games, giving the Broncos another reliable way to move the ball.
Absences add uncertainty to the margin
The Pac-12 availability listing published by havoc.football marks Boise State receiver Ben Ford and offensive lineman Carson Rasmussen out. It lists Washington State linebacker Nylan Brown out for the season, receiver Darrius Clemons doubtful, and three other Cougars questionable. Those absences favor neither side cleanly enough to justify laying a large spread.
SPF lists Boise State at -625 on the moneyline and -14.5 against the spread. The Broncos are the likely winner, but the moneyline demands too much for a team missing two offensive contributors, and the available evidence doesn't establish that Boise State will win by 15 or more. The betting lean is Pass.
