Rockets vs. Spurs Prediction: Pass With Key Players Questionable
Analysis updated October 23, 2026 at 7:29 AM CDT
The Spurs are the likely winner, but uncertain availability and limited performance evidence leave no worthwhile wager at the SPF price.
San Antonio is favored, but the price needs more support
SportsPicksForum lists San Antonio as a 5.5-point home favorite and -205 on the moneyline for Friday's 9:30 p.m. ET game. Houston is +5.5 and +170, while the total is 228.5.
The Spurs are the likely winner based on that market, but no team records, recent results or season statistics are available to justify laying 5.5 points or paying -205. That gap between the projected winner and the available betting evidence makes a pass the better choice.
Availability could change the matchup
The NBA's October 23 injury report lists San Antonio guard De'Aaron Fox as questionable with a right-wrist sprain and Keldon Johnson as questionable with a mouth laceration. Tobias Harris is out with a left-calf strain, and Jayden Quaintance remains out following right-knee surgery. Those absences and uncertain statuses make the Spurs difficult to back at a favorite's price.
Houston also has two questionable players. Steven Adams is dealing with right-calf tightness or soreness, and Reed Sheppard has a left-knee contusion or bone bruise. Their status prevents a clear availability advantage for the Rockets, so Houston's +5.5 isn't supported either.
No edge on the total
The total is 228.5, with the under priced at -115 and the over at -105. Without reliable pace, scoring or recent-form data, neither side of the total has a factual case.
