PHILADELPHIA — Malcolm Jenkins hasn't spoken to Colin Kaepernick in “over a year,” but the Eagles safety is adamant the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback deserves to be an NFL starter again. Jenkins was one of the first NFL players to join Kaepernick three years ago in protesting police brutality and racial oppression during the playing of the national anthem. Drew Lock returned from injured reserve this week, making it back to practice with the Denver Broncos for the first time since he suffered a thumb injury in the preseason. The Broncos' second-round draft pick was always meant to be their quarterback of the future — a position team president John Elway can't seem to successfully fill. Dalvin Cook and the Minnesota Vikings made the turn into the second half of the 2019 season in position to check off a lot of goals on their preseason to-do list. At 7-3, the Vikings have the NFL's leading rusher and are second in the NFC North with plenty of time to push the Green Bay Packers for the division crown behind a defense with as much bite as it has bark. Cook leads the NFL in rushing with 991 yards -- including six 100-yard games -- and is second in the league with 10 rushing touchdowns behind Green Bay's Aaron Jones (11) and Carolina's Christian McCaffrey (11).
