Sunday's game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens brings us the sequel to one of the great man-to-man battles in recent college football history: the October 2016 showdown between the Clemson Tigers of Deshaun Watson and the Louisville Cardinals of Lamar Jackson. That particular game went Watson's way, while the season went Jackson's; he ended up winning the Heisman later that year. Watson got the nice consolation prize of a national championship. The Cincinnati Bengals placed cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick on injured reserve on Friday due to the knee injury he suffered in Week 6. Coming off the brawl, the Browns' defensive end Myles Garrett's season is now over, and it remains to be seem whether he will be reinstated at all — which is what happens when you rip the helmet off opposing team's QB and hit him repeatedly, on live TV. Cleveland's Larry Ogunjobi shoved another player during the altercation and was suspended for one game, while the Steelers' Maurkice Pouncey laid into Garrett and is out three games. The enduring image of Mason Rudolph was going to be him knocked cold during a game against the Baltimore Ravens with a scary concussion. Rudolph had his helmet ripped off by Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, and then Garrett swung the helmet and hit Rudolph directly in the head. Rudolph said he was OK after the game, but it could have been a lot worse. Continue to Article
