Two and a half weeks into an expected six-week absence, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is throwing a football again with his surgically repaired right thumb. Brees posted three videos on Instagram on Saturday evening, with a caption reading "Shhhhhhhhh....." along with a thumbs up emoji. While New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley continues to make progress from a high ankle sprain, he was ruled out of Sunday's game against the visiting Minnesota Vikings. Giants head coach Pat Shurmur, via Newsday's Tom Rock, said Barkley would do "a little bit more" Thursday and it was possible the running back plays in Sunday's home game. Continue to Article

New Orleans
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense opened eyes around the NFL when it led a 55-40 victory over the Rams last Sunday in Los Angeles. That marked the most points ever scored by the Buccaneers (2-2) and the most since they opened the 2018 season with a 48-40 victory in New Orleans, the same place they return this Sunday to take on the Saints (3-1). Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston, who did not play in that Week 1 shootout last year, fired four touchdown passes against the Rams and was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
