Jonathan Drouin picked the perfect time to break out of his lengthy scoring slump. Drouin had a goal and an assist and Carey Price made 28 saves as the Montreal Canadiens beat the New York Islanders 4-0 Thursday night to remain in the hunt for an Eastern Conference playoff spot. Carey Price made 28 saves for the shutout as the Montreal Canadiens earned a 4-0 win over the visiting New York Islanders on Thursday. Along with acquiring Ryan O'Reilly from the Buffalo Sabres and signing Tyler Bozak and Patrick Maroon in free agency, they also brought back veteran winger David Perron (after losing him in the expansion draft the previous year) on a four-year, $16 million contract for what is now his third different stint with the team. Perron scored two more goals and added an assist in the Blues' 7-2 thumping of the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, bringing his season totals to 20 goals and 40 total points in 48 games. Buffalo
When the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Buffalo Sabres Wednesday night, there will be plenty of incentive to win for both teams. The Maple Leafs are trying to right themselves for the playoffs after a stretch in which they have allowed 26 goals in dropping four of five games, including a 3-0 road loss to the Nashville Predators Tuesday night. The Sabres will be trying to win two games in a row for the first time since mid-December, a stretch of 40 games. Continue to Article
