Clayton Kershaw struck out 12 batters over seven innings Sunday and the Los Angeles Dodgers' offense came to life in a 7-2 home victory that ended their 11-game regular-season losing streak to the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was the left-hander's 59th career game with at least 10 strikeouts. The Dodgers last defeated the Diamondbacks on Aug. 10 of last year but have lost four consecutive regular-season series to Arizona since, including the just-completed three-game set. About the only thing that went wrong for Arizona in another win over the Dodgers was a base-running blunder that took away a home run. The Diamondbacks' third baseman Deven Marrero appeared to hit a three-run homer, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts argued that Marrero had passed Alex Avila between first and second. After a review, Marrero was credited with a single and ruled out for passing Avila, turning the hit into a two-run single. Continue to Article

The Los Angeles Dodgers' offense will get a fourth chance to lend a show of support to staff ace Clayton Kershaw. The dominating left-hander is an uncharacteristic 0-2 with a no-decision after three starts in 2018, although he has most certainly done his part with a 1.89 ERA into Sunday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
