Guy Fieri, a resident of Santa Rosa and the the mayor of Flavortown, was seen prepping lunch for his favorite football team this week during their preseason training in Napa. The Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives host has become an annual guest chef for the Raiders, and this year, he coached Marshawn Lynch through his whole chicken-roasting strategy. Lynch, who returned from retirement to sign with the Raiders, might be taking notes: He recently bought Scend’s Restaurant and Bar, a 1967-opened soul food restaurant on the Oakland-Emeryville border, to keep it from closing. Marshawn Lynch is notoriously tight-lipped in his conversations with the media, but there were many wondering if he’d speak about his decision to sit during the national anthem of his first preseason game with the Oakland Raiders. The answer was no. When asked about it Thursday, Lynch rambled about nothing in particular and gave no real answer about his motivations. The video is quiet, but he was first asked about the “elephant in the room.” “I think that elephant just left the room cause a little mouse ran in here,” Lynch said. “Didn’t they say elephants are scared of mouses or something? That motherfucker left, cousin.” Then he was asked if it’d matter to him if Raiders fans wearing his jersey Continue to Article

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch says that while he respect NFL players that refuse to stand for the national anthem, he thinks the practice also causes possible disagreement between players. Lynch was asked about the protests, days after Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett and Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch did not stand during their team's preseason games last week.
