The Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives host has become an annual guest chef for the Raiders, and this year, he coached Marshawn Lynch through his whole chicken-roasting strategy. Lynch, who returned from retirement to sign with the Raiders, might be taking notes: He recently bought Scend’s Restaurant and Bar, a 1967-opened soul food restaurant on the Oakland-Emeryville border, to keep it from closing. Oakland Raiders cornerback Sean Smith has been charged with beating his sister's boyfriend last month, Los Angeles prosecutors said Thursday. The 30-year-old Smith is scheduled to be arraigned next month on assault and battery charges, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. An Oakland Raiders cornerback who prosecutors say beat and stomped on his sister's boyfriend was charged on Thursday with assault and battery. Sean Lee Smith, a 30-year-old National Football League defensive player, could face up to seven years in prison if he is convicted on all three felony counts against him, which include allegations of causing great bodily injury.
