National rankings and bowl games didn't matter a whole lot to Brandon Bell when the linebacker committed to Penn State, a program then under unprecedented NCAA sanctions. ''It's great, definitely,'' Bell said. With five games left, No. 24 Penn State (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) can make a run at a conference championship but faces plenty of hurdles. Continue to Article

Rafael Gaglianone has worn No. 27 to honor Sam Foltz in 2016. Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone will walk out of the tunnel with Nebraska before the Badgers and Huskers play each other Saturday evening in Madison. For the fifth time in eight games this season, the Badgers (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) will face a team ranked in the Top 10, this time unbeaten and seventh-ranked Nebraska (7-0, 4-0) on Saturday night (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis. Wisconsin opened the season with a 16-14 win over then-No. 5 LSU at famed Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Three weeks later, it took down then-No. 8 Michigan State 30-6 in East Lansing, Mich. The Badgers have lost their last two games against Top 10 foes, a 14-7 defeat at then-No. 4 Michigan and a 30-23 overtime setback to then-No. 2 Ohio State on Oct. 15. Continue to Article

Establishing consistency is at the core of the new-look Purdue football program under enthusiastic interim coach Gerad Parker. An inability to play with any consistency led to athletic director Mike Bobinski's decision on Oct. 16 to fire fourth-year head coach Darrell Hazell, who was 9-33, and replace him with 35-year-old Parker, who has a riverboat gambler's approach to facing No. 24 Penn State on Saturday in Ross-Ade Stadium. Parker is eager to show fans and the rest of the Big Ten that Purdue is capable of back-to-back efforts that feature consistent play. Continue to Article
