Not all superheroes wear capes, but maybe they should. Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar has put his power of flight on display a number of times while playing the field , and managed to do it again Sunday. [ Join a Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball contest now ] With two outs in the fifth inning, Minnesota Twins infielder Brian Dozier blasted a 2-0 pitch from Marcus Stroman out to deep left center field. Off his bat, it looked like an easy extra-base hit, and probably would have scored the runner from first base. Not so fast. When Pillar patrols the outfield, there's no such thing as a sure hit. Pillar tracked the ball from center, covering a ton of ground to try and close the gap. Right when he got close enough, Pillar laid out, diving to make a fantastic grab. For any other outfielder, it would be a spectacular play. For Pillar, this type of thing is what we've come to expect. After being beat out for a gold glove by Tampa Bay Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier, Pillar is out for revenge. If it leads to a back-and-forth where the two keep making plays like this, we're 100 percent on board. He would get plenty of use out of it, and it would make his "Superman" nickname even more appropriate. The Kansas City Royals couldn't finish off a sweep in their latest road series but likely won't complain considering their recent woes away from home. The Royals can put those further behind them as they look to match their longest win streak against the Minnesota Twins and longest in Minnesota on Monday night. Phil Hughes was forced out of his previous start in the sixth inning because shoulder fatigue. The first inning was Hughes' downfall Sunday. Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson started the game with back-to-back home runs in a three-run first inning, and Marcus Stroman bounced back from his worst major league start to lead the Toronto Blue Jays over the Twins 3-1. Trying to spark an offense that hasn't met its immense expectations, the Toronto Blue Jays stacked the top of their lineup the past four games with their three main power threats. Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson started the game with back-to-back home runs off Phil Hughes in a three-run first inning, and Marcus Stroman bounced back from his worst major league start to lead the Blue Jays over the Minnesota Twins 3-1.
