Zach Werenski scored an overtime power-play goal to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets past the visiting St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Friday night. The Blue Jackets, who also got goals from Vladislav Gavrikov and Pierre-Luc Dubois, won for just the second time in nine games (2-5-2). Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves for the victory. After taking a bit of time to mull it over, The Great One has decided not to make his return behind the bench at this winter's Spengler Cup. Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Wayne Gretzky had been approached by Sean Burke about leading Canada's team at the upcoming tournament. SAN JOSE -- Suffice to say, the Sharks don't look like the same team that started a six-game homestand on Nov. 1 with one of the worst records in the NHL. With a 6-3 win over the Pacific Division-leading Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night, the Sharks have won four in a row and appear to be climbing out of the hole they dug themselves in the first month of the season.
