Nathan MacKinnon scored two goals and had two assists, and Adam Werner made 40 saves for a shutout in his first NHL game as the Colorado Avalanche beat the host Winnipeg Jets 4-0 on Tuesday. MacKinnon scored twice in the third period and assisted on goals from Cale Makar and Joonas Donskoi. The Vancouver Canucks have scored five or more goals seven times already this season. Timo Meier scored in the seventh round of a previously scoreless shootout to give the San Jose Sharks a 2-1 victory over the visiting Nashville Predators on Saturday night. After Martin Jones stopped a Rocco Grimaldi try to start the round, Meier looped in from the right side and then roofed a wrist shot over the blocker side of Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros.
