After his team's first four skaters in the shootout couldn't beat goalie Thomas Greiss, Montreal Canadiens coach Claude Julien decided to go with the right-handed Joel Armia instead of Charles Hudon. Armia scored in the fifth round on the first shootout attempt of his career to lift the Canadiens over the New York Islanders 4-3 on Monday night. The Los Angeles Kings have fired head coach John Stevens and replaced him on an interim basis with former Vancouver Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins. Stevens’ Kings stumbled to a 4-8-1 start, and he exits with the organization sitting last in the Western Conference with nine points.
