Arizona Diamondbacks rookie Zac Gallen lost his no-hit bid with one out in the seventh inning on a clean single by the San Diego Padres' Manny Machado. Machado ripped a line drive into right field. Joey Votto singled, doubled, homered and drove in two runs to lead the Cincinnati Reds to an 8-5 win against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night. Jose Iglesias hit a pinch-hit solo home run in the seventh off reliever Jose Alvarez (3-4) to move Cincinnati back ahead 6-5, and relief pitcher Michael Lorenzen drilled a two-run blast in the eighth to make it 8-5. Brian O'Grady had two hits in his second major league start, and Aristides Aquino contributed a two-run double in the four-run second inning for the Reds, who had lost six of seven.
