Max Scherzer is back on the 10-day injured list, unwelcome news for the Washington Nationals as they push for a wild card berth and try to catch the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. The Nationals announced Monday that Scherzer was placed on the IL with a minor rhomboid strain. The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to trade infielder Eric Sogard to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday for a player to be named later, according to multiple reports. The deal is pending completion of a physical for the 33-year-old Sogard, who was scratched from the Blue Jays' lineup just before Sunday afternoon's game against the visiting Rays. Atlanta left fielder Adam Duvall celebrated his return to the big leagues with a home run, one of four struck by the visiting Braves, in a 15-7 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Duvall was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday to replace veteran Nick Markakis, who was placed on the injured list with a fractured wrist.
