J.D. Martinez, Andrew Benintendi and Sam Travis clouted homers in a seven-run third inning, and Eduardo Rodriguez fired seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 9-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night in St. Petersburg, Fla. The three-homer barrage occurred after Rafael Devers opened the scoring in the third with a two-RBI double. The Red Sox are reportedly kicking the tires on Toronto closer Ken Giles, according to the MLB Network's Jon Morosi. Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff is headed to the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique muscle. Woodruff, a first-time All-Star this season, left his start in Phoenix against the Arizona Diamondbacks two pitches into the fourth inning with what the team described a few innings later as abdominal discomfort.
