Yordan Alvarez capped a stretch of back-to-back-to-back home runs with a titanic blast to right field before the Houston Astros hung on for a 4-3 victory over the visiting Texas Rangers on Friday night. Alvarez followed solo blasts from Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman with his 474-foot bomb deep into the upper deck for his 10th home run this season. New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his rant at home plate umpire Brennan Miller. Major League Baseball Chief Baseball Officer Joe Torre announced the discipline Friday for "inappropriate actions, including contact with the home plate umpire." Los Angeles Angels right-handed starting pitcher Matt Harvey, who experienced a setback last month on his rehab for an upper back strain, was designated for assignment on Friday. Harvey missed seven weeks because of the injury, then returned to make two starts over the past week.
