Right-hander Tyler Beede won his second consecutive start and contributed an RBI single in a six-run seventh inning Sunday afternoon, guiding the San Francisco Giants to an 8-3 victory over the host Milwaukee Brewers. Donovan Solano had a double and a single in the big seventh inning, while Brandon Belt added a solo homer for the Giants, who won two of three in the series to run their stretch of improved play to eight wins in their past 10 games. After Christian Yelich homered in the sixth to offset Belt's blast in the fifth to create a 2-2 tie, Solano led off the seventh against Brewers reliever Corbin Burnes (1-5) with a double. Catcher Tyler Flowers lined an opposite-field double off the right field wall at Petco Park in the top of the 10th inning Saturday night to cap a three-run inning as the Atlanta Braves defeated the host San Diego Padres 7-5. Ozzie Albies singled home Josh Donaldson with one out in the top of the 10th to snap a 4-4 tie. Donaldson, who earlier hit his third homer in two games, drew a walk from Padres reliever Luis Perdomo to lead off the 10th and advanced to second on Nick Markakis' groundout to second. Donaldson's first homer followed an 11-minute, first-inning delay after plate umpire Dana DeMuth was forced from the game after being struck on the left forearm by a foul ball off the bat of Atlanta's Freddie Freeman. DeMuth, who was replaced behind the plate by Angel Hernandez, looked to be in considerable pain when he left the field. Continue to Article

Buster Posey cleared the bases with his fifth career grand slam in the top of the 10th inning Friday night, sending the San Francisco Giants to a 10-7 victory over the host Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a three-game series. After both teams had scored one run in the ninth, Joe Panik singled off the Brewers' fifth pitcher, Matt Albers (4-3), to lead off the 10th. After Mike Yastrzemski worked a walk and Brandon Belt singled to load the bases, Posey connected for just his fourth home run of the season, his first since June 1. Continue to Article
