With Milwaukee four games back of Chicago, the outcome of these two series will most likely determine the NL Central. Josh Donaldson, the 2015 American League MVP who hasn't played in the majors since May 28 due to a left calf strain, reportedly was dealt from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Cleveland Indians on Friday. Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that the Blue Jays placed the 32-year-old third baseman on waivers, and Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reported Friday evening that a deal was completed with the Indians. David Wright rejoined the New York Mets on Friday, though he remains on the disabled list, and said he met with team officials to discuss what he needs to prove physically in order to get back in a major league game for the first time since 2016. The seven-time All-Star third baseman took grounders before the Mets faced the San Francisco Giants and said he's ''cautiously optimistic'' he'll get into a game in September.
