Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones donated $8,500 to a Little League team seeking to defray costs to play in the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament, which starts Sunday in Bristol, Conn. Jones' contribution will go to the Mamie Johnson Little League team of Washington, D.C. This is the first team made up of a majority of black players -- 11 of 12 players are black -- to win the D.C. When Baltimore Orioles centerfielder Adam Jones signed an $85.5 million, 6-year extension in 2012, he pledged $75,000 yearly to the local Boys & Girls Club of America Branches – but he hasn’t stopped there. Jurickson Profar helped the Texas Rangers get a big win in a matchup of retooling teams, and hand the struggling Baltimore Orioles another low this season.
