The San Diego Padres are set to activate right fielder Wil Myers Thursday after a nearly two-month stint on the 10-day disabled list. Hunter Pence drove in two runs in a rare start, and Gorkys Hernandez capped a five-run sixth inning with a two-run single Wednesday afternoon, allowing the San Francisco Giants to outlast the Miami Marlins 6-5 and win a tense three-game series in San Francisco. San Francisco Giants closer Hunter Strickland apologised for the "stupid decision" that led to him breaking his hand. Strickland punched a door in frustration after coming out of a 5-4 loss to the Miami Marlins on Monday. Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he will require surgery and will miss six to eight weeks.
