New York Mets
NEW YORK — Ben Lively crashed J.P. Crawford's coming-out party Tuesday night and no one had a problem with it. Lively pitched seven innings of one-run ball and drove in four runs with a two-run single and a swing-hard-and-something-good-might-happen, two-run home run to lead the Phillies to a 9-1 victory over the New York Mets at Citi Field (see observations). Both of Lively's big hits came against Jacob deGrom, who has been an absolute beast against the Phillies for much of his career. The hard-throwing, floppy-haired right-hander entered the game with a 6-0 record and a 2.10 ERA in 10 career starts against the Phillies, including 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA in three starts this year. It all changed Continue to Article

New York Mets
Matt Harvey's previously-scheduled start on Wednesday has been bumped back to Thursday when the Mets host the Reds at CitiField, Mets manager Terry Collins said after Tuesday's game. The Mets have not yet announced who will pitch on Thursday night when the Mets play the rubber game of a three-game series with the Phillies. Collins cited weather as the reason for pushing Harvey's start to Thursday, as rain is in the forecast. Earlier in the day on Tuesday the team defended the initial plan to send Harvey to the mound after three days of rest. "We don't think there's a significant medical risk to this point," Mets GM Sandy Alderson said. "He wants to get back out there as quick as possible," Mets Continue to Article

New York Mets
NEW YORK — Nights like this are why Charlie Manuel used to say, "Baseball is a funny game." Jacob deGrom has spent much of his career beating up on the Phillies. On Tuesday night, the Phillies beat him up in a 9-1 win at Citi Field. • The kids fueled the victory and offered a glimpse of what the future might look like (see story). Rookie right-hander Ben Lively pitched seven strong innings and drove in four runs with a two-run single and a two-run homer, both against deGrom. Rookie Nick Williams had a three-run double. Rookie Rhys Hoskins was on base four times with a single, double and two walks. And, of course, J.P. Crawford had a hit, scored a run and played flawless at third base in his first Continue to Article

New York Mets
Things you should know about tonight's game... 1) Jacob deGrom allowed a career-high nine runs -- six earned -- and a season-high tying 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings during the second-shortest outing of his career. The right-hander struck out five, walked one and surrendered a two-run single and a two-run homer to Phillies pitcher Ben Lively.  2) Dominic Smith's error in the second led directly to a run and rendered the three runs deGrom allowed in the frame unearned. 3) Travis d'Arnaud doubled twice and drove in the Mets' only run of the game while Asdrubal Cabrera added two hits. 4) Josh Smoker, Jacob Rhame, Kevin McGowan, Erik Goeddel and Jamie Callahan combined for seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 scoreless Continue to Article

Philadelphia Phillies
NEW YORK  From the front office on down, the Phillies organization is eager to take a look at prospect J.P. Crawford and get a gauge on whether he could be part of the big-league roster in April. Crawford, 22, will play a lot over the final 25 games of this season that was from the outset dedicated to finding out who will be part of the future and who won't. "I won't say every day, but as much as I can," manager Pete Mackanin said before Tuesday night's game. Continue to Article
