New York Mets
Things you should know about tonight's game... 1) Jacob deGrom allowed five runs on eight hits -- including a pair of homers -- while walking two and striking out four over 7 1/3 innings in the 100th start of his big league career. It was the most runs he's allowed since June 6 when he surrendered eight against the Rangers. 2) Dominic Smith hit the first home run of his Major League career, a two-run shot to left in the seventh inning. New York Mets
Sonny Gray and the New York Yankees could walk off with smiles after another win in the Subway Series. Everyone except closer Aroldis Chapman. Gray outpitched Jacob deGrom, Jacoby Ellsbury and Gary Sanchez homered, and the Yankees held off the Mets 5-4 Tuesday night to sweep both rivalry games in the Bronx. New York Yankees
Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has homered in his sixth straight game, hitting his 44th of the season off San Francisco Giants left-hander Madison Bumgarner. The All-Star outfielder has 10 home runs in his last 11 games, and 23 in the last 35. The major league record for consecutive games with a home run is eight, set by Dale Long of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1956, Don Mattingly of the New York Yankees in 1987 and Ken Griffey Jr. of the Seattle Mariners in 1993. New York Yankees
There aren’t many people who can make New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge look like a normal-sized human being. Likewise, WWE superstars Braun Strowman (he’s 6-foot-8) and Big Cass (all 7 feet of him) aren’t used to running into people their size. Continue to Article
