Activision Blizzard has been trying to get a large-scale Overwatch league off the ground since the game launched last May, and it appears that the company has finally managed to make that happen. The Overwatch League will consist of teams from 10 major cities around the globe, with support from entrepreneurs in both esports and traditional sports. The moment most Phillies fans have been waiting for has arrived: Rhys Hoskins was called up from Triple A on Thursday and will be with the Phils for tonight's home game against the New York Mets. Hoskins has been playing left field this week at Triple A with the IronPigs. Former Mets first baseman Lucas Duda wrote a goodbye to the Mets and their fans on The Players' Tribune, specifically thanking Curtis Granderson and the 7 Line Army.  Duda, who came up to the Mets in 2010, was joined by Granderson in 2014 when the outfielder signed a four-year deal. Although Duda may not have loved the @WeFollowLucasDuda Instagram account Granderson created, the two quickly connected both on and off the field. "You guys know what type of person he is," Duda said of Granderson. "I don't have to tell you. We joke around a lot, and I don't want to give him too big of a head here, but he's special. The Mets traded Jay Bruce to the Indians on Wednesday, which should have been an expected transaction completed with little other thought given to it. This is the Mets, though, and that's not how they tend to work. Instead, shortly after the deal, leaks started coming out that the Yankees had been involved in negotiations as well, and it was clear these leaks came from the Yanks, because they did not paint the Mets in a flattering light. The Yankees rarely leak — they're one of the quieter teams in the game, and you often don't know they're involved in something until it happens (unless, such as in the case of the Todd Frazier etc. trade from July, they're negotiating with a team as chatty as the White Sox). The Indians have acquired outfielder Jay Bruce from the Mets, Ken Rosenthal reports. The Mets received minor league pitcher Ryder Ryan in return, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
