On Saturday, a pair of rookies came through in walk-off situations, while a Cy Young winner's hard-luck season continued. Cody Bellinger had already dazzled to the point of becoming the youngest Dodgers position player ever to make an All-Star team, but against the Royals in Los Angeles, he did something new. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning, he waited out Kansas City closer Kelvin Herrera, earning a six-pitch walk that forced in the game-winning run. Continue to Article

CLEVELAND - Indians manager Terry Francona is resting at home following a heart procedure and four-day hospital stay. Francona was released from the Cleveland Clinic on Friday night, one day after undergoing a cardiac ablation for an irregular heartbeat. Francona returned to his downtown residence during the Indians' 11-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. The 58-year-old Francona had been experiencing dizziness and an accelerated heart rate over the last month. Following an array of tests, he was admitted to the hospital Tuesday after doctors detected abnormal readings from a heart monitor he had been wearing for several weeks. Doctors hope Francona's noninvasive surgery will correct the arrhythmia, Continue to Article

Eddie Butler turned in another abbreviated performance after four innings — he’s pitched into the sixth inning just once this season — but kept the game scoreless for the bullpen, who limited the Pirates’ offense to one run and two hits. Nationals 5, Braves 4 (10 innings): The Nationals are now 4-4 in extra-inning games this season, and took home their third extra-inning walk-off win on Friday night with a decisive RBI single from Daniel Murphy. The single scored rookie journeyman Adrian Sanchez, who pinch-hit in the 10th inning and recorded his first major league hit on a line drive off of the Braves’ Ian Krol. Continue to Article

Baseball America released its midseason Top 100 prospect ranking Friday morning and the White Sox are well represented with five names on the list: 1. Yoan Moncada - 2B 20. Michael Kopech - RHP 45. Luis Robert - OF 59. Reynaldo Lopez - RHP 75. Lucas Giolito - RHP BA originally forgot to include Robert on the list after the Cuban outfielder signed with the White Sox just this season. Robert, 19, has played 17 games in the Dominican Summer League, hitting .255 with a .479 on-base percentage and .872 OPS, walking 17 times against only 14 strikeouts and stealing eight bases with one home run. All five players were not a part of the White Sox organization even a year ago as the top two (Moncada and Continue to Article

After a 4-1 win against the Boston Red Sox and ace Chris Sale, the Tampa Bay Rays will hope to build on the momentum on Friday in the second game of the series. "Hopefully we can keep it going tomorrow," said Rays first baseman Logan Morrison, who had three hits, hours after learning he missed out on the "Final Vote" balloting for the All-Star Game. Ramos, who missed the first 76 games of the season recovering from knee surgery, was a huge part of the Rays' win -- he drove in three of Tampa Bay's four runs, including a two-run home run in the sixth that Sale said "sucked the energy" out of the Red Sox.
