YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A judge temporarily halted the deportation of over 100 Iraqi Christians who are now being held at a private prison in Youngstown. The 114 Chaldean Iraqis were arrested in Detroit 11 days ago because they all have criminal records in the United States. They were brought to Youngstown and are currently being held at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center on the east side. On Thursday, a federal judge in Michigan stopped their deportation for 14 days while he decides if his court has jurisdiction to hear their plight. Justice Department officials said the case should be heard in immigration court and not in federal court. The detained immigrants fear torture and possible Continue to Article

ST. LOUIS - By Neel Kale, from Cardsblog.com Lance Lynn has been one of the few good stories to come out of the Cardinals this year. After undergoing Tommy John surgery caused him to miss all of 2016, he's had a resurgence in 2017. Lynn has been one of the most solid pitchers in the entire Cardinals rotation, and part of the reason the Cardinals are competing in the NL Central. However, as I discussed last week, this team is not properly built to contend deep in the postseason. The Cardinals are a team with a few pronounced strengths (pitching) and many very pronounced weaknesses (defense, bullpen, offense). It would definitely be be best to give up some pitching for some defensive, offensive, Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
Atlanta Braves left fielder Matt Kemp hit a walk-off home run in extra innings on Wednesday night to give the Braves a 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giants. With the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 11th, Kemp stepped up to the plate and hit his 12th home run of the season to right field. As Kemp rounded the bases, the Braves dugout emptied and met Kemp at home plate to celebrate the win. This feels like an opportune time to remind you that @TheRealMattKemp SHOULD BE AN ALL-STAR!#VoteKemp: https://t.co/iuHBSb6le1 pic.twitter.com/RNkC00aETA— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) June 22, 2017 Brandon Phillips celebrated Kemp’s game-winning home run by giving Kemp an ice bath during Kemp’s post game interview. Atlanta Braves
On Tuesday evening, we learned that the Braves were considering moving first baseman Freddie Freeman to third base when he returns from his wrist injury as a way to accommodate Freeman’s replacement Matt Adams, who has been nothing short of a phenomenal replacement. Freeman spoke about it on Wednesday and showed that, in fact, the wheels are already turning to get him in shape to play the hot corner. Freeman said he “felt pretty good” taking grounders at third base. Continue to Article

Atlanta Braves
Matt Adams' offensive resurgence has forced the Atlanta Braves to consider playing Freddie Freeman at third base when the star slugger returns from the disabled list. Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters that the organization "can't rule out anything," acknowledging that Atlanta may have to shift Freeman to third base, a position he has not played since high school. "We are kind of discussing that internally and looking at that because it is a reality," Snitker told reporters Tuesday. "The fact is Freddie is going to be back, and what do we do? There are some options there, because it would be nice to have both of those guys in the lineup somehow." Freeman, who has played his entire major Continue to Article
